DNS Enabler for Mojave Überblick
DNS Enabler kann einen voll funktionsfähigen Domain Name Server (DNS) auf einem einfachen Mac OS X-Gerät einrichten. Es ist so konzipiert, dass ein Benutzer die Domainnameninformationen schnell über ein einzelnes Fenster und in kürzester Zeit einrichten kann.
DNS Enabler bietet die Schnittstelle, die es Benutzern ermöglicht, Zuordnungen von Domainnamen zu Adressen für Maschinen im Internet sowie deren Aliase oder MX-Einträge (z. B. welche Maschinen als Mailserver für die Domain fungieren) anzugeben.
Zusätzlich ermöglicht es Benutzern, andere Domain- und Zoneninformationen festzulegen, z. B. Time-To-Live-Intervalle, die bestimmen, wie lange diese Informationen gültig bleiben.
Es wird automatisch die Datei named.conf, die Vorwärtszuordnungsdateien für jede Domain, die Rückwärtszuordnungsdateien für jedes Netzwerk und alle Ressourcen- und Rückwärtszeiger-Einträge generieren.

It does not seem to support SRV records used for autodiscovery, and the developer does not respond to email.

DNS Enabler looks more robust than Leopard Server's standard DNS. The developer's site doesn't mention if DNS Enabler is compatible/recommended for deployment on Leopard Server. Has anyone done this?

I've been using DNS Enabler for over 4 years and can testify that it's rock solid. While you can find many references for configuring BIND, your actual requirements will always differ from those of the providers of the information. Thus, customization is extremely difficult and requires trial and error. DNS Enabler completely simplifies the process and allows ongoing edits with ease. For those who are complaining about the lack of a true demo, any savvy user could copy the BIND configuration files during the demo period - thus eliminating the need to purchase a license. For $15, the developer more than deserves to recoup some of his developments costs. If your network would benefit from managed DNS, this will be the best $15 bucks you've spent in a long time. Heck, if the developer comes here, I'll treat 'em to dinner and a few beers, too ;-)

Installed it on a machine around two years ago. Never again watched at it, the setup it made daily serves around 40 clients. If you nedd a quick, no headache and zero maintenance solution, you can buy it without regrets. DNS made easy.
